Qatar, Saudi Arabia reaffirm support for US-Iran dialogue, regional stability

MANAMA, Thursday, June 25, 2026 (WNP): Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud reaffirmed their support for diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening regional security and stability during a meeting held on the sidelines of the joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-United States Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Manama on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders reviewed the close bilateral relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia and discussed ways to further deepen cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

The meeting also focused on the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic initiatives following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which seeks to advance dialogue and reinforce regional peace and security.

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that dialogue and peaceful diplomacy remain the most effective path to resolving outstanding issues and reducing regional tensions.

He expressed hope that the negotiations would lead to sustainable solutions that strengthen regional security, expand opportunities for cooperation, development and economic prosperity, and serve the common interests of the peoples of the Middle East and the wider international community.

The two foreign ministers also stressed the importance of continued coordination among Gulf countries in addressing regional challenges and supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting lasting peace, stability and constructive engagement across the region.
