DPM/FM reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to deepening engagement with Iran; stresses dialogue and diplomacy for lasting regional peace and stability

ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (WNP): Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday and briefed him on progress under various bilateral institutional mechanisms aimed at strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

The Iranian ambassador apprised the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of developments under the institutional mechanisms established to enhance bilateral cooperation across diverse areas, particularly following the recent exchange of high-level visits between the two countries.

Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening engagement with Iran, particularly in key priority areas of mutual interest.

The two sides also exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and matters of mutual concern.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only effective means of addressing outstanding issues and achieving lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance both sides attach to continued high-level engagement and institutional mechanisms for advancing Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations.
