MULTAN, Tuesday, February 17, 2026 (WNP): The 7th All Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah Open Long Range Shooting Championship – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Cup 2026 – concluded in Multan with new national records set across multiple categories.
The championship brought together top marksmen from across the country, competing in various long-range rifle disciplines under strict competitive standards.
In the main events, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfiqar clinched the prestigious Full Target Rifle (FTR) Trophy, while Waleed Ahmed Gul secured the F-Open Freestyle Trophy. Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez claimed victory in the Tactical Match, and Noor Zaman triumphed in the Iron Sight Rifle Match.
In individual competitions, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfiqar secured first position in the 300-meter Sporting Rifle Match, further consolidating his dominance at the event. Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez also topped the 900-yard FTR Match, demonstrating precision and consistency in long-range shooting.
The championship witnessed notable milestones, with Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfiqar setting a new national record in the FTR Aggregate category. Waleed Ahmed Gul established new national records in both the F-Open 1000-yard and F-Open Aggregate categories, underscoring the rising competitive standards in Pakistan’s long-range shooting circuit.
The annual COAS Cup championship serves as a platform to promote marksmanship, discipline and competitive shooting in the country, attracting both military and civilian participants. Organisers said the event reflects continued efforts to foster professional excellence and sportsmanship in shooting sports nationwide.
