ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, May 6, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, stability, and dialogue while addressing the second session of the Ulema Council Conference in the federal capital.
Welcoming the participation of distinguished international and national Ulema and scholars, Dar said the conference was both timely and significant in addressing challenges facing the Muslim world.

He highlighted Pakistan’s sustained diplomatic engagement aimed at de-escalation and promotion of dialogue in the region and beyond, reiterating the country’s commitment to peaceful coexistence.
The deputy prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance on Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, emphasizing the need for Muslim unity and collective efforts for the welfare of the Ummah. He also underscored the central role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in addressing issues confronting the Muslim world.

Dar said Pakistan has been at the forefront of global efforts to combat Islamophobia and promote interfaith harmony, reflecting its commitment to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among different communities.
Paying tribute to the nation’s resilience, he referred to the anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq,” highlighting the spirit of unity and determination demonstrated by the country.
He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, peace, progress, and prosperity remain central to Pakistan’s national vision.
