Ali Şahin expresses gratitude to PM Shehbaz for congratulatory message on son’s wedding

ANKARA, Monday, August 10, 2026 (WNP): Chairman of the Türkiye-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group and Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Ali Şahin has expressed his deepest gratitude to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for conveying his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the wedding of his son, Ahmet Hakan.

In a message of gratitude issued on behalf of his family, Ali Şahin described Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as a “dear friend and cherished brother” and said the Pakistani premier’s gracious message on the occasion would remain among the most treasured memories of his family.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had conveyed his congratulations to Ali Şahin and his family in a letter dated August 8, 2026, on the wedding of Ahmet Hakan. The Prime Minister expressed his regret at being unable to attend the ceremony personally and said Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid would represent him at the event.

In his response, Şahin praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as one of the steadfast and memorable leaders of the “unbreakable brotherhood” between Pakistan and Türkiye, describing the two countries as “twin children of the Islamic world.”

He also referred to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s role in the recently concluded Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and the Islamabad-hosted U.S.-Iran diplomatic process, describing him as a key actor in these developments.

Şahin said the gracious gesture extended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to his family reflected the noble grace and courtesy of the Pakistani premier and leader of Pakistan’s people.
