“Humanitarian assistance reaches 70 flood-affected families in Laghman Province under Saudi Arabia’s emergency food security initiative”

KABUL, Sunday, August 9, 2026 (WNP): The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 70 food baskets to flood-affected people in Briyani village and the Wadi Noor Lam area of Afghanistan’s Laghman Province, benefiting 490 individuals from 70 families.

The relief distribution was carried out under the Food Security and Emergency Project for Flood-Affected People in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Areas of Afghanistan, being implemented during the current year.

The initiative forms part of Saudi Arabia’s continued humanitarian and relief efforts through KSrelief to support vulnerable communities and people affected by natural disasters in different parts of the world.

The assistance reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to providing emergency relief and strengthening food security for communities facing humanitarian challenges.
