MADINAH, Saturday, August 8, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday departed Madinah for Pakistan after completing his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

At Madinah Airport, Governor of Madinah Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud bid farewell to the Prime Minister and members of the Pakistani delegation.

During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, marking a significant development in defence cooperation and fraternal relations among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

The landmark agreement is expected to open new avenues for enhanced trilateral defence cooperation and further strengthen the strategic and brotherly ties among the three countries.

During his stay in the Kingdom, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also performed Umrah and paid his respects at Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) at Masjid-e-Nabawi in Madinah.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi accompanied the Prime Minister during his visit to Saudi Arabia.
