WASHINGTON, Tuesday, April 14, 2026 (WNP): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Tucker Foote, Chief of Global Affairs and Policy at Mastercard, on the sidelines of the World Bank–IMF Spring Meetings 2026 to discuss advancing Pakistan’s digital financial landscape.
The meeting focused on expanding digital payment systems, promoting financial inclusion, and fostering innovation within Pakistan’s rapidly evolving fintech ecosystem.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the development of a secure, inclusive, and future-ready digital economy, emphasizing the importance of leveraging technology to broaden access to financial services.
Key issues discussed included strengthening cybersecurity frameworks, facilitating efficient cross-border financial flows, and enhancing remittance channels—seen as critical components for economic resilience and growth.
The engagement reflects Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to modernize its financial infrastructure and accelerate the transition toward a more digitized and inclusive economy.
