Pakistan’s Army Chief highlights education, entrepreneurship and fact-based analysis amid growing influence of social media and propaganda
RAWALPINDI, Friday, August 28, 2026 (WNP): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) of Pakistan, on Friday interacted with a delegation of students from Harvard Business School representing multiple countries during their visit to Pakistan.
The interaction covered a wide range of regional and global developments, Pakistan’s security outlook, and the country’s efforts to promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the increasingly complex and volatile nature of the global environment, stressing the importance of equipping young people with the knowledge and skills required to navigate emerging challenges effectively.
He underscored the significance of education, skill development, entrepreneurship and fact-based analytical thinking among young people, particularly at a time when societies are increasingly exposed to the influence of social media, misinformation and propaganda.
The COAS & CDF emphasized that an informed and skilled younger generation can play a meaningful role in addressing contemporary challenges and contributing to sustainable peace, stability and economic prosperity.
The Harvard Business School students, who represented diverse national backgrounds, shared their experiences from their ongoing visit to Pakistan.
They expressed appreciation for the openness and warmth of the Pakistani people, while also highlighting the country’s considerable potential and the opportunities they had observed during their visit.
The interaction provided an opportunity for an exchange of perspectives between Pakistan’s military leadership and an international group of young business and future policy leaders on regional dynamics, global challenges and the prospects for Pakistan.
The engagement underscored the importance of international people-to-people exchanges, informed dialogue and greater understanding among younger generations in fostering cooperation and building bridges across countries and cultures.
