Ambassador Irfan Neziroğlu briefs DPM/FM Ishaq Dar on progress under bilateral mechanisms; sides stress close coordination ahead of Joint Commission and 8th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council

ISLAMABAD, Friday, September 18, 2026 (WNP): Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan Irfan Neziroğlu called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and briefed him on progress under various bilateral institutional mechanisms aimed at advancing cooperation across a range of areas.

During the meeting, the Ambassador apprised the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of developments following recent high-level interactions between Pakistan and Türkiye and highlighted progress under the existing bilateral mechanisms.

Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its engagement with Türkiye, particularly in key priority areas of mutual interest.

The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister emphasised the importance of close coordination between relevant departments of the two countries in preparing for the forthcoming Joint Commission and the 8th session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), with a view to advancing the bilateral cooperation agenda.

The two sides also exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and matters of mutual interest.

Senator Ishaq Dar underscored Pakistan’s consistent position that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving outstanding issues and achieving lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

The meeting reaffirmed the close and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye and the two countries’ shared resolve to further strengthen bilateral cooperation through institutional mechanisms and high-level engagement.
