RIYADH, Tuesday, April 28, 2026 (WNP): The Saudi Electricity Regulatory Authority has announced that the Saudi Arabia will host the 24th Annual Conference of the Energy Regulators Regional Association in Riyadh from February 1 to 3, 2027.
The conference will be held under the theme “From Oversight to Foresight: The Proactive Regulator in the Electricity Transformation,” reflecting the growing global focus on forward-looking regulatory approaches in the energy sector.
The selection underscores SERA’s evolving role in advancing innovative and proactive regulatory models for the electricity sector, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to position the Kingdom as a leading destination for international forums and conferences.
The announcement was made during the 23rd Annual ERRA Conference currently underway in Slovakia, where SERA is participating as a member of the association.
The Saudi delegation is headed by Abdulrahman bin Saad Al-Mozan, Vice Governor of Economic Affairs and Licensing at SERA.
During the conference, SERA highlighted its experience in developing regulatory frameworks and enhancing consumer protection. A working paper was presented by Abdulilah bin Rawdan Al-Shaiee, Vice Governor of Consumer Affairs, during a panel session titled “Transforming Retail Supply and Customer Engagement.”
The upcoming conference in Riyadh is expected to bring together energy regulators, policymakers, and industry experts from across the globe to discuss emerging trends and challenges in electricity regulation.
