Saudi defense minister awards King Abdulaziz Medal to Pakistan’s COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir for strengthening bilateral ties

RIYADH, Sunday, December 21, 2025 (WNP): Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Khalid bin Salman, on Sunday presented Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, with the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class, recognizing his distinguished efforts in enhancing Saudi-Pakistani cooperation and advancing bilateral relations.

The award was conferred upon the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, highlighting Pakistan’s pivotal role in fostering defense and strategic partnerships with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the Saudi Minister congratulated Field Marshal Munir on his recent appointment as Chief of Defense Forces and reviewed the historical ties and strategic defense cooperation between the two countries. The discussion also covered efforts to promote international peace and security and explored additional areas of mutual interest.
