JEDDAH, Monday, August 25, 2025 (WNP): Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday discussed the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, underscoring the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian aid, and long-term peace.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah, convened to address the escalating situation in Palestine.
Dar said the talks focused on the “grave humanitarian catastrophe” unfolding in Gaza, where civilians continue to face mass displacement, famine, and what he termed as “genocide.” He emphasized that immediate humanitarian access and reconstruction efforts were vital to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.
“We also reviewed our brotherly bilateral ties in diverse areas and exchanged views on key regional and international developments of mutual interest,” Dar noted following the meeting.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Saudi relations and maintaining close coordination on regional and global issues, particularly within the framework of the OIC and the United Nations.
