ISLAMABAD, Monday, August 17, 2026 (WNP): Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki on Monday said a new trilateral defence agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye would be implemented “on the ground” in the coming days.

“I think this agreement is a very important agreement. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye are very keen for the stability of the region,” Ambassador Al-Malki said.

He said practical cooperation under the agreement would begin soon. “In the coming days, we will make this agreement on the ground, and we will see a lot of cooperation between the three countries,” he added.

The Saudi ambassador said Pakistan had emerged as a “very important country” not only in the region but also globally amid continuing tensions in the Middle East.

He expressed hope that Pakistan would join the ranks of the world’s top 20 countries within the next three to four years.
