ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, August 18, 2026 (WNP): U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker joined the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day, highlighting the enduring friendship between Pakistan and the United States and the role of sports in strengthening people-to-people ties.

The event underscored the importance of sports diplomacy as a means of fostering greater understanding, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Natalie Baker said the celebration was also part of the United States’ “Decade of Sport”, describing the occasion as an example of sports diplomacy in action and a reflection of the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the United States.

The participation of the U.S. diplomatic representative in the sporting activity provided an opportunity to celebrate Pakistan’s national day while promoting closer people-to-people engagement through sport.

The event also highlighted the potential of sporting exchanges and joint activities to build bridges between communities and further strengthen bilateral relations.
