President Zardari felicitates Uzbek President on 35th Independence Day

Pakistan values historic and fraternal ties with Uzbekistan; President Mirziyoyev’s February visit gave fresh momentum to strategic partnership, says President Zardari

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 (WNP): President Asif Ali Zardari has conveyed his warm felicitations to President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the brotherly people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the country’s 35th Independence Day.

In his letter to President Mirziyoyev, President Zardari said Pakistan attaches great importance to its historic and fraternal relations with Uzbekistan, which are rooted in shared faith, cultural affinities, mutual trust and a common vision for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

He expressed satisfaction that the Pakistan-Uzbekistan partnership was continuing to acquire greater depth and substance, with cooperation expanding across political, economic, trade, connectivity, defence and people-to-people domains.

Recalling President Mirziyoyev’s State Visit to Pakistan in February 2026, President Zardari said the visit had imparted fresh momentum to the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He said the productive discussions and understandings reached during the visit reflected the strong political will of both sides to translate their close friendship into tangible benefits for their peoples.

President Zardari expressed confidence that through joint efforts, Pakistan and Uzbekistan would further strengthen their strategic partnership, enhance regional connectivity and economic cooperation, and work closely towards their shared aspirations for peace, stability and prosperity.

He also extended his best wishes for the continued progress, prosperity and well-being of the people of Uzbekistan on the country’s Independence Day.
