Pakistan’s Commodore Rashid Sheikh assumes charge as coalition Deputy Commander
RIYADH, Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (WNP): The Multinational Maritime Defence Forces have entered the implementation phase of their operations from the newly established Command Headquarters in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As part of the new command structure, Pakistan’s Commodore Rashid Sheikh has assumed charge as the Deputy Commander of the coalition, marking Pakistan’s continued and significant role in strengthening multinational maritime defence cooperation.
The establishment of the Command Headquarters in Riyadh represents an important step in enhancing coordination, operational planning and cooperation among participating maritime defence forces.
The development further highlights the growing strategic and defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as their commitment to strengthening regional maritime security and collective defence capabilities.
