Ishaq Dar, Saudi foreign minister discuss regional situation, maritime security

ISLAMABAD, Monday, May 11, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday held a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and discussed the evolving regional situation and matters of mutual interest.

During the conversation, the Saudi foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and reiterated support for Islamabad’s efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability, particularly in the context of ongoing engagement between Iran and the United States.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the importance of safeguarding maritime security, including in the Strait of Hormuz.

Both sides agreed to remain in close contact regarding regional and international developments.
