Türkiye, Mongolia discuss expanding strategic cooperation during joint committee meeting

ULAANBAATAR, Monday, May 11, 2026 (WNP): Interior Minister of Türkiye Mustafa Çiftçi held a comprehensive meeting with Mongolian Defence Minister Damba Batlut in Ulaanbaatar during the 10th Term Meeting of the Türkiye-Mongolia Joint Economic and Trade Committee (KETK).

According to the Turkish minister, the meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation under the “Strategic Partnership” framework established between Türkiye and Mongolia in line with the vision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The two sides discussed cooperation in disaster management, institutional coordination in security, defence industry, education, technology, health, transportation and logistics.

The ministers also reviewed cooperation between Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency as well as initiatives aimed at increasing training and experience-sharing among law enforcement institutions.

Mustafa Çiftçi expressed confidence that the protocol signed during the KETK meeting would further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and contribute positively to bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors.
