ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, April 29, 2026 (WNP): Ambassador of Russia to Pakistan, Albert P. Khorev, on Wednesday called on Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, with both sides holding detailed discussions on strengthening cultural cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khorev highlighted the growing momentum in humanitarian and cultural engagement between Moscow and Islamabad, appreciating the support extended by Pakistan’s National Heritage and Culture Division in facilitating Russian cultural initiatives.

He also briefed the minister on upcoming projects aimed at further enhancing people-to-people contacts and deepening cultural dialogue between Russia and Pakistan.
Minister Khichi, in his remarks, noted that Russian culture and traditions have gained significant popularity among Pakistani citizens over the years, reflecting the longstanding and evolving bilateral relationship.
He further emphasized that, in line with the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan encourages friendly countries to organize cultural events showcasing their heritage and traditions to promote mutual understanding.

In this context, both sides agreed to explore the possibility of organizing reciprocal Russia-Pakistan cultural weeks next year, featuring musical groups, artists, writers, and other members of the creative community from both countries.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment to further strengthening cultural ties and fostering closer people-to-people connections between the two nations.
