ISLAMABAD, Sunday, March 29, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday said foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt have expressed full support for Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and de-escalation in the region, including facilitating potential talks between the United States and Iran.
Addressing a joint statement at the conclusion of the second meeting of four foreign ministers held in Islamabad, Dar said the participants held “detailed and in-depth discussions” on the prevailing regional situation and explored ways to bring an early and permanent end to the ongoing conflict.

He said the foreign ministers expressed deep concern over the devastating impact of the conflict on lives and livelihoods across the region, emphasizing that the war would only lead to further destruction and that unity among the Muslim Ummah was of utmost importance.
The ministers agreed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path forward, calling for restraint, de-escalation and the creation of conditions conducive to structured negotiations between relevant parties. They also reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the principles of the United Nations Charter, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Dar said he briefed his counterparts on Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach, including its engagement with both Washington and Tehran, noting that both sides have expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to facilitate talks.
“Pakistan will be honored to host and facilitate meaningful talks between the two sides in the coming days for a comprehensive and lasting settlement,” he said.

The deputy prime minister also highlighted international backing for Pakistan’s initiative, including support from Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who have endorsed Islamabad’s peace efforts.
He expressed gratitude to the visiting foreign ministers for their support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue working with sincerity to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
The four countries also agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation and maintain close coordination on regional and international issues, as diplomatic efforts intensify to reduce tensions and restore stability.
