ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 (WNP): British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott has welcomed the resumption of direct flights by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to London, terming it a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties.

Expressing her pleasure, she said it was “great to join the PIA team for this exciting occasion,” as the airline resumes its direct connectivity between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The flights are now operational from both Lahore and Islamabad, enhancing travel convenience for passengers.

She noted that the restoration of direct flights would further reinforce the strong people-to-people connections and the “living bridge” between the two nations, facilitating greater engagement and exchange between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
