ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 (WNP): Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan, Dr. Mehdi Taheri has underscored a message of hope, resilience, and unity as the ancient festival of Nowruz coincides with Eid al-Fitr this year.
Addressing Pakistanis and a wider audience, he said that this year’s Nowruz carries a different and profound significance for the Iranian nation as it marks the arrival of spring amid challenging circumstances.
He referred to what he described as an imposed and unequal conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran, stating that the country had endured significant losses, including senior figures and innocent civilians.
Despite the hardships, he emphasized that Nowruz, a centuries-old cultural heritage of Iran, remains a symbol of renewal, hope, and resilience. “It reminds us that after every winter, spring must follow, and darkness cannot last forever,” he noted.
Highlighting the rare convergence of Nowruz and Eid al-Fitr, he said the overlap carries a deep and inspiring message for Muslims worldwide. He added that the end of the holy month of Ramadan, marked by Eid al-Fitr, reflects patience, devotion, and the promise of reward, reinforcing the belief that perseverance ultimately leads to ease and success.
Dr. Taheri stressed that Eid al-Fitr symbolizes purity, unity, and solidarity within the Muslim Ummah. He said that at a time when challenges confront the Islamic world, unity and a return to shared values could strengthen collective resilience.
Referring to recent developments, he mentioned attacks on residential areas in Tehran and energy installations, as well as strong rhetoric from US officials, describing them as indicators of escalating tensions. However, he asserted that Iran has historically emerged resilient from crises and would continue to do so.
He further stated that the simultaneous observance of Nowruz and Eid sends a clear message of steadfastness, adding that the Iranian nation would not yield to pressure or aggression.
Calling for peace, he expressed hope that the ongoing conflict would come to an end and give way to stability and calm. He als emphasized the need for unity among Muslim countries to ensure dignity and prosperity.
Concluding his message, Dr. Taheri extended greetings on both occasions, wishing that the new year brings success and that prayers and good deeds are accepted.
