WASHINGTON, Thursday, June 11, 2026 (WNP): U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that the United States and Iran had reached a great deal, with final documentation expected to be completed within days, potentially paving the way for a formal signing ceremony in Europe.
Trump said negotiations had entered the final stage and expressed confidence that the agreement would soon be finalized.
“We just made a great deal with Iran, and we’re subject to finalization of documents, which should get done over the next few days,” Trump said. “We’ll probably have a signing, maybe in Europe. It’s a great thing.”
The U.S. president said the agreement would ensure that Iran would never acquire a nuclear weapon, describing it as the central objective of the negotiations. “Most importantly, we have a deal that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, which was the whole purpose of what we had to go through to get this,” he said.
Trump linked the positive reaction in financial markets to investor confidence in the emerging agreement, noting that U.S. stock markets had recorded significant gains following reports of progress in the talks. “The stock market’s up a thousand points. That means they like the deal,” he remarked.
The president also expressed optimism that the agreement would contribute to lower global energy prices and greater regional stability. He said the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international shipping route, would reopen fully following the implementation of the agreement, easing concerns about global energy supplies and maritime security.
Trump revealed that he had held consultations with leaders from across the Middle East regarding the developing agreement, including officials from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait. He also praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his role in supporting diplomatic efforts. “President Erdoğan was great,” Trump said, adding that the agreement had generated widespread support across the region.
The U.S. president made special mention of Pakistan’s contribution to the diplomatic process, describing Islamabad’s role as constructive and positive. “Pakistan was fantastic,” Trump said while referring to discussions with Pakistan’s leadership.
He also praised Pakistan’s military leadership, saying, “The Prime Minister and the, I call him the General. He’s a General. He’s a great, great General. He’s so great that he’s actually a Field Marshal, a step above.”
Trump said leaders across the Middle East were welcoming the prospect of a final agreement, expressing hope that it would open the door to broader regional cooperation and improved relations among countries in the region. “The whole Middle East is happy,” he said. “A lot of good relationships will ensue from this.”
While details of the agreement have not yet been officially released, Trump’s remarks indicate that negotiations have entered a decisive phase and that a formal announcement could be made in the coming days. The proposed accord is expected to have significant implications for regional security, global energy markets and international efforts aimed at preventing nuclear proliferation.
