MANAMA, Wednesday, June 10, 2026 (WNP): Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived in Manama on Wednesday to participate in the Ministerial Council meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the third joint ministerial meeting of the GCC-Canada Strategic Dialogue.

Upon arrival in the Bahraini capital, Prince Faisal was received by senior Bahraini officials ahead of a series of high-level meetings focusing on regional security, economic cooperation and international partnerships.

The GCC Ministerial Council meeting is expected to review the latest regional and international developments, with particular attention to security challenges in the Gulf region, ongoing diplomatic efforts to promote regional stability, and measures to strengthen coordination among member states.

Foreign ministers of the six GCC countries — Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar — are scheduled to discuss a wide range of political, economic and security issues for enhancing collective cooperation and safeguarding the interests of the Gulf region.

Prince Faisal’s participation comes at a critical time as Gulf states continue consultations on regional security, energy markets, maritime safety and efforts to address emerging geopolitical challenges.

Following the GCC Ministerial Council session, Prince Faisal will also participate in the third joint ministerial meeting of the GCC-Canada Strategic Dialogue, which seeks to expand cooperation between the Gulf bloc and Canada in areas including trade, investment, energy, technology, climate action and regional security.

The dialogue provides an important platform for strengthening political consultations and exploring new opportunities for economic and strategic cooperation between the GCC countries and Canada.

Saudi Arabia has consistently emphasized the importance of international partnerships and multilateral engagement in addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.

The meetings in Manama are an important opportunity for GCC member states to coordinate positions on key regional issues while deepening engagement with international partners.

The participation of Prince Faisal bin Farhan reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to strengthening Gulf unity, advancing regional stability and expanding constructive cooperation with countries and organizations around the world.
