TİKA, KP explore cooperation in livestock, fisheries to strengthen livelihoods

ISLAMABAD, Monday, April 6, 2026 (WNP): The Country Coordinator of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) Saliha Tuna has said that discussions were held with senior officials from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to enhance bilateral cooperation in key sectors for improving livelihoods and local production.

Saliha Tuna welcomed Zarif Ul Maani, Secretary of the Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives Department, to TİKA’s Islamabad office, where both sides exchanged views on expanding collaboration in the province, particularly in the livestock and fisheries sectors.

According to officials, the meeting focused on exploring avenues to strengthen livelihoods, support local production systems, and contribute to the development of resilient and sustainable food systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of joint initiatives and technical cooperation to uplift rural communities and enhance productivity in agriculture-related sectors.

The TİKA Country Coordinator expressed optimism that the engagement would pave the way for practical and impactful projects, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with provincial authorities for the socio-economic development of local communities.
