MUSCAT, Thursday, May 7, 2026 (WNP): Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik and President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held a cordial meeting at Al Barakah Palace on Thursday, focusing on regional developments and ongoing efforts to address the American-Iranian crisis through diplomacy and dialogue.
According to an official statement, the two leaders reviewed major regional issues and discussed their political, economic, and security implications amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

Sultan Haitham and President Sisi also exchanged views on ways to achieve a final agreement aimed at resolving the crisis between the United States and Iran through mutual understanding, diplomatic engagement, and peaceful negotiations.
The meeting reflected continued coordination between Oman and Egypt on regional stability and conflict de-escalation efforts.
The Omani side included General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, and Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai.
The Egyptian delegation included Major General Ahmed Ali Mohamed, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Counsellor Omar Marwan, and Ambassador Yasser Shaaban.
