LONDON, Friday, May 8, 2026 (WNP): The High Commission for Pakistan in London commemorated the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq” at a ceremony attended by British parliamentarians, councillors of Pakistani origin, businessmen, media representatives, diplomats, and members of the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom.

Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to the UK, Haseeb bin Aziz paid tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces for what he described as their courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment in defending the country.

He said the event was held to honour Pakistan’s “heroic Armed Forces, fearless soldiers, sailors and airmen” who stood as “an iron shield in defence of the sacred land of Pakistan.”

Referring to “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” he said the response of Pakistan’s armed forces was swift, decisive, and precise, demonstrating operational excellence that earned international recognition.

Haseeb bin Aziz also appreciated the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom for standing in solidarity with Pakistan and acting as ambassadors of the country during challenging times.

Defence and Naval Adviser Commodore Jawad Khawaja and Army and Air Adviser Colonel Mohsin Waqar said Pakistan’s defence forces acted in exemplary coordination to foil hostile designs and safeguard the country’s sovereignty.

Minister (Press) Ali Nawaz Malik briefed participants on the efforts made by the Pakistan High Commission to keep British media informed during Marka-e-Haq and effectively present Pakistan’s position in response to what he described as false narratives propagated by India.

Representatives of the Pakistani community in the UK paid tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces, political leadership, and the nation for demonstrating unity and resilience during Marka-e-Haq.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to national unity and pledged that the spirit of Marka-e-Haq would continue to strengthen efforts towards building a stronger and more resilient Pakistan.
