“Ambassador Mudassir highlights expanding trade, PTA enhancement, stronger business linkages and tourism potential at LCCI seminar”

TASHKENT, Tuesday, August 4, 2026 (WNP): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mudassir, on Tuesday underscored the strong commitment of the leadership of Pakistan and Uzbekistan to further deepen bilateral economic cooperation, highlighting growing trade, enhanced business connectivity and expanding tourism opportunities between the two countries.

Addressing a seminar titled “Economic Opportunities and the Religious Heritage of Uzbekistan,” organized in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the ambassador said both countries are actively working to unlock the full potential of their longstanding bilateral partnership.

He noted that Pakistan and Uzbekistan have witnessed impressive growth in bilateral trade and stressed the importance of sustaining this momentum through the expansion of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), regular business forums, stronger business-to-business (B2B) linkages and enhanced regional connectivity.

Ambassador Mudassir emphasized that closer cooperation between the private sectors of both countries would play a pivotal role in increasing trade and investment while creating new commercial opportunities for businesses on both sides.

Highlighting the tourism sector, he said immense opportunities exist for promoting two-way tourism by connecting Uzbekistan’s rich Islamic heritage and historic cities with Pakistan’s diverse tourism offerings, including its centuries-old historical sites, majestic mountain ranges and breathtaking natural landscapes.

He said strengthened connectivity, enhanced commercial engagement and closer people-to-people contacts would further reinforce the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, contributing to regional economic integration and shared prosperity.
