ISLAMABAD, Sunday, July 12, 2026 (WNP): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and expanding collaboration in the energy sector during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari and Saudi Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan.
The meeting focused on enhancing strategic economic cooperation, promoting investment, and exploring new avenues to deepen the longstanding partnership between the two brotherly countries.
The two sides held comprehensive discussions on strengthening bilateral economic ties, expanding trade and investment, and accelerating cooperation in the energy sector as part of the shared vision for sustainable economic growth and regional prosperity.
They reviewed opportunities to broaden collaboration across key sectors, with particular emphasis on energy development, infrastructure, and mutually beneficial investment initiatives. Both sides also exchanged views on measures to further enhance institutional coordination and facilitate greater economic engagement between the public and private sectors of the two countries.
Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, highlighting the Kingdom’s longstanding support for Pakistan’s economic development and stability.
Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari underscored the importance of closer cooperation in the energy sector, noting that enhanced collaboration would contribute to Pakistan’s energy security, economic resilience and sustainable development.
Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to further strengthening its strategic relationship with Pakistan and expressed Saudi Arabia’s continued interest in supporting initiatives that promote economic growth, investment and long-term bilateral cooperation.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and reaffirming their resolve to translate the strong political understanding between the leadership of the two countries into tangible economic outcomes through enhanced cooperation in finance, energy and investment.
