ISLAMABAD, Sunday, April 12, 2026 (WNP): A high-level delegation from Iran departed Islamabad on Sunday after participating in the Islamabad Talks aimed at advancing regional peace and stability.
The delegation was led by Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and included Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Senior Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, saw off the visiting delegation.

The departure marks the conclusion of Iran’s participation in the Islamabad Talks, which brought together key stakeholders to pursue diplomatic solutions to ongoing regional tensions.
The high-level engagements are part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to facilitate dialogue and promote de-escalation, reinforcing its role as a key mediator in the region.
