TEHRAN, Monday, June 15, 2026 (WNP): Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Monday announced that an agreement to end the conflict on all fronts had been finalized after 107 days of intense resistance, calling it a significant step toward restoring regional stability and ending a costly war.

Speaking at his weekly press briefing in Tehran, the spokesperson said the agreement was concluded late Sunday night and marked the culmination of extensive diplomatic and political efforts aimed at bringing an end to hostilities.

He said Iran remained cautious in its approach toward the United States, emphasizing that decades of mistrust could not be overcome overnight.

“Our deep-rooted distrust of the United States remains,” he said, adding that Washington would need to take concrete steps to build confidence and demonstrate its commitment to the implementation of the agreement.

The spokesperson stressed that Iran’s decision to pursue diplomacy did not diminish its determination to seek justice for those who had lost their lives during the conflict.

Referring to a recent Israeli attack on Lebanon, he described it as an attempt to undermine ongoing peace efforts but said such actions would ultimately fail to derail the diplomatic process.

He noted that developments in Lebanon formed an integral part of the understanding reached and emphasized that the agreement explicitly underscored Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the spokesperson, the memorandum stipulates that a complete cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, constitutes a fundamental condition for the accord’s implementation.

Highlighting the economic dimensions of the agreement, he said the United States had committed to lifting all primary, secondary and United Nations-related sanctions imposed on Iran.

He added that following the formal signing of the accord, a 60-day period would be used to finalize technical and nuclear-related arrangements, while restrictions affecting Iran’s oil exports and petrochemical sales would be removed immediately.

The spokesperson further stated that the agreement provides for the unfreezing of Iranian assets and includes provisions addressing compensation related to wartime damages.

He described the outcome as a result of national unity and cohesion, crediting Iran’s state institutions and leadership for what he termed a strategic achievement secured through resilience and coordinated diplomacy.

The remarks came amid intensified regional and international efforts to implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which seeks to establish a framework for lasting peace, security and stability across the region.
