Saudi envoy, climate minister explore deeper climate, strategic cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Friday, January 9, 2026 (WNP): Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, on Friday met Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral and strategic cooperation, with a particular focus on climate resilience and sustainable development.

The meeting reviewed Pakistan’s key climate priorities, including adaptation, environmental protection, and sustainable growth. Dr. Musadik Malik emphasized the growing urgency of climate challenges and highlighted the critical role of international partnerships in addressing issues such as climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and disaster preparedness.

The minister also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support and constructive engagement with Pakistan across multiple sectors, noting that bilateral cooperation has contributed positively to national development efforts.

Ambassador Al-Malki reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to further strengthening ties with Pakistan and supporting collaborative initiatives in areas of mutual interest, including climate and environmental cooperation.

Both sides reiterated the longstanding, brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to expand, reflecting shared priorities and a common vision for sustainable development and regional stability.
