Shehbaz, Erdoğan vow to deepen strategic ties as Pakistan, Türkiye reaffirm shared vision for regional peace

BAKU, Saturday, November 8, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a high-level meeting with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day Parade, reaffirming the two nations’ unwavering commitment to further strengthen their historic partnership across all spheres.

Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting, which focused on expanding cooperation in political, defence, economic, trade, and investment domains while deepening people-to-people linkages.

The two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of Pakistan–Türkiye relations and expressed satisfaction over the pace of bilateral engagement, emphasizing the need to translate the deep-rooted fraternal bond into tangible strategic collaboration.

Prime Minister Shehbaz extended warm felicitations to President Erdoğan and the people of Türkiye on the occasion of Republic Day, commending the spirited celebrations of Pakistan–Türkiye Friendship Week that underscored the strength and resilience of their ties.

Underscoring Pakistan’s resolve to elevate bilateral cooperation to new heights, Shehbaz Sharif said Islamabad was committed to transforming its time-tested brotherhood with Ankara into a comprehensive strategic partnership. In this context, both sides agreed that a Turkish ministerial delegation would soon visit Pakistan to advance collaborative projects and explore new investment avenues.

The two leaders also exchanged views on key regional and international developments, reaffirming their shared vision for promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the broader Muslim world.

Reiterating their solidarity on global issues, Shehbaz Sharif and Erdoğan vowed to continue close coordination through bilateral and multilateral forums, upholding their joint commitment to unity among Muslim nations and to addressing challenges through dialogue and diplomacy.
