ISLAMABAD, Friday, August 8, 2025 (WNP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Friday oversaw the departure of Pakistan’s 18th humanitarian aid consignment to Gaza, carrying 200 tons of food and medical supplies on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to support Palestinians facing worsening hardships.

Speaking at a send-off ceremony at Islamabad International Airport, Tarar said the shipment comprised two consignments of 100 tons each, containing dry rations, essential food items, and life-saving medicines.

He noted that the aid was being dispatched at a time when the ongoing blockade had severely hindered the delivery of relief by many international organizations.

“Children and innocent civilians in Gaza are suffering from severe malnutrition. The situation has become a grave humanitarian crisis,” the minister told reporters.

Tarar said Pakistan has so far sent 1,800 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza since the recent escalation of hostilities. He praised the Al-Khidmat Foundation and Jamaat-e-Islami leadership for their contributions and for consistently advocating the Palestinian cause on various platforms.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Palestine, Tarar said the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had acted swiftly on the prime minister’s directive to ensure the urgent delivery of relief to the besieged territory.
