JEDDAH, Thursday, August 6, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Thursday on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Upon his arrival in Jeddah, the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation were warmly received by Deputy Governor of Makkah Province Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and senior diplomatic officials.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss ways to further strengthen the longstanding fraternal relations and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The two leaders are also expected to exchange views on the evolving regional situation and other issues of mutual interest.
As part of the visit, the Prime Minister will perform Umrah and offer prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. He will also travel to Madinah to pay his respects at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque).
Accompanying the Prime Minister are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.
The visit reflects the deep-rooted brotherly relationship, mutual trust, and expanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and is expected to further enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination on regional and international issues.
