Ali Şahin says spirit of freedom and service should further strengthen unshakeable friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Friday, August 14, 2026 (WNP): Chairman of the Türkiye-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group and Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Ali Şahin has extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

In his message, Ali Şahin described August 14 as a shared day of brotherhood and service, saying the date carried special significance for both Pakistan and Türkiye.

He said August 14, 1947, marked the glorious Independence Day when Pakistan attained freedom, while August 14, 2001, marked the founding of Türkiye’s AK Party, established with a commitment to public service.

“On this meaningful day, I wholeheartedly celebrate Brother Pakistan’s Independence Day, and sincerely congratulate the AK Party on its Founding Anniversary,” he said.

Ali Şahin expressed hope that the spirit of freedom and service symbolized by August 14 would carry the “unshakeable friendship” between Türkiye and Pakistan even stronger into the future.

“May our friendship and brotherhood endure forever!” he said.
