ISTANBUL, Friday, July 3, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Istanbul on Friday on a bilateral visit to the Republic of Türkiye at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Upon his arrival at Atatürk Airport, the Prime Minister was received by Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Professor Dr. Omer Bolat, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Dr. Yousaf Junaid, along with senior officials from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the Prime Minister during the visit.

During his stay in Istanbul, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold comprehensive talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the full spectrum of Pakistan-Türkiye bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment and economic partnership.
The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and international developments, with a focus on promoting peace, security and stability.
As part of his engagements, the Prime Minister will address a Pakistan-hosted Business Conference aimed at showcasing Pakistan’s growing trade and investment opportunities. The conference will highlight prospects in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), energy, information technology, privatization and other key sectors.
The event is expected to bring together leading Turkish business executives, investors, senior government officials and other distinguished participants, reflecting the shared commitment of Pakistan and Türkiye to further strengthening economic cooperation and expanding commercial ties.
