DOHA, Monday, May 4, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on Monday received Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, who is currently on a visit to the country.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to further enhance cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest.
They also discussed evolving regional developments, particularly the situation related to the ceasefire between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and strengthening regional security and stability.
The Qatari prime minister emphasized the importance of all parties responding positively to mediation efforts, noting that constructive engagement could help address the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue.
He underlined that such an approach would pave the way for a sustainable agreement capable of preventing renewed escalation and contributing to long-term peace and stability in the region.
