Dar, Norwegian Deputy FM discuss regional situation, strengthen bilateral engagement

ISLAMABAD, Monday, May 4, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday received Norway’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where both sides discussed the evolving regional situation and avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, Dar underscored Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote engagement and dialogue for peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The Norwegian deputy foreign minister reiterated his country’s support for Pakistan’s constructive role and its ongoing efforts toward a peaceful and durable resolution of regional issues.

Both sides also explored opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations and deepen engagement across diverse sectors of mutual interest.

Kravik conveyed an invitation from the Norwegian foreign minister to Dar to participate in the Oslo Forum scheduled for next month. The deputy prime minister expressed appreciation for the invitation.

The two sides agreed to remain in close contact on bilateral matters as well as issues related to peace, stability, and development.
