Dar, Iranian FM discuss regional situation, stress dialogue for peace, stability

ISLAMABAD, Sunday, April 19, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, focusing on the evolving regional situation and the need for diplomatic engagement.

During the discussion, Dar underscored the importance of continued dialogue and constructive engagement to address ongoing issues at the earliest and to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and maintain diplomatic coordination in view of the prevailing circumstances.

They also concurred on a scheduled telephone conversation later in the day between the President of Iran and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, aimed at further strengthening bilateral consultation on regional developments.

The interaction reflects ongoing high-level engagement between Islamabad and Tehran as both sides seek peaceful solutions through dialogue and cooperation.
