Saudi Finance Minister calls on PM Shehbaz; reaffirm commitment to deepen Pakistan–Saudi economic, fraternal ties

ISLAMABAD, Friday, April 10, 2026 (WNP): Finance Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Friday during his one-day visit to Islamabad.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting.

Welcoming the Saudi finance minister, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his respectful regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Prime Minister fondly recalled his recent warm and cordial telephone conversation with the Crown Prince and expressed appreciation for his deep affection towards Pakistan. He also lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s longstanding economic and financial support to Pakistan, saying it had played a vital role in strengthening the country’s economic stability over the years.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the people and Government of Pakistan had always stood shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi brothers and sisters in all circumstances, adding that the fraternal bond between the two countries had continued to deepen under the patronage of the Crown Prince.

He further underscored Pakistan’s strong commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia across all spheres, particularly in trade, investment, and broader economic development.

In response, the Saudi Finance Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s resolve to further strengthen its longstanding and deep-rooted fraternal relations with Pakistan, in line with the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Both sides expressed confidence that the historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would continue to grow stronger through enhanced cooperation and mutual trust.
