ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, March 3, 2026 (WNP): Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi on Tuesday visited the Embassy of Iran to express condolences over the recent attacks on Iran and the demise of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, terming the loss a tragedy not only for Iran but for the wider region.

During his meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, the CII Chairman conveyed profound grief and solidarity with the Iranian people amid ongoing developments.

Dr Naeemi praised the Iranian nation for what he described as its patience, resolve and high morale in the face of recent events. He said the assault on Iran’s sovereignty was a matter of grave concern for the Muslim Ummah and a significant loss for the Islamic world that would be difficult to compensate.

Referring to Ayatollah Khamenei’s leadership, Dr Naeemi said he had consistently advocated Muslim unity and stood at the forefront of supporting oppressed Muslims worldwide, particularly in Palestine and Gaza.

He added that the late Iranian leader had always wished for peace and stability in Pakistan and had strongly condemned what he described as Israeli and US-backed terrorism and aggression against Iran.

Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Dr Naeemi called on Islamic countries to engage in immediate consultations and demonstrate unity at what he termed a critical juncture for the Muslim world.

The meeting concluded with prayers for regional peace and stability, and for solidarity among Muslim nations in addressing the emerging challenges.
