Iranian ballistic missiles striking central Israel; Tel Aviv impact areas hit as air defences tested

TEL AVIV / JERUSALEM, March 3, 2026 (WNP): New verified footage from the ongoing Middle East conflict shows Iranian ballistic missiles reaching central Israel, including impact zones in and around Tel Aviv, as Tehran’s retaliation for recent U.S.–Israeli strikes intensifies.

The attacks have put Israel’s air defence systems under strain and caused damage to civilian areas, according to military and emergency officials.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that several Iranian-launched ballistic missiles breached airspace and struck multiple locations in central Israel on Tuesday, prompting a large deployment of search and rescue teams at impact sites. Authorities said three people sustained light injuries in the Tel Aviv district, where evidence of munitions fragments was found.

Verified aerial and ground footage compiled by international news agencies show smoke rising from multiple hit sites and emergency responders at the scenes, underscoring the gravity of the strikes amid the broader conflict.

The barrage of Iranian missiles comes as part of Tehran’s sustained response to a large-scale U.S.–Israeli military offensive targeting Iranian military infrastructure. In previous days, Iranian forces are reported to have fired missiles at civilian and military targets across the region, stretching from Gulf states to Israeli population centres, testing the limits of existing defence systems.

One of the hardest-hit areas in recent days was Beit Shemesh, where a ballistic missile strike killed at least nine civilians, including children, and injured dozens more when it struck near a synagogue during a sheltering situation.

These developments have added urgency to diplomatic efforts and defensive measures, with Israel mobilising reservists and activating nationwide emergency protocols.

Although Israeli air defence systems — including Iron Dome and other interceptor networks — have successfully neutralised a large portion of incoming threats, videos and official reports confirm that some ballistic missiles have broken through defences and impacted urban areas.

Emergency services have urged civilians to follow sheltering instructions as the atmosphere of anxiety deepens in major cities. The strikes, captured in verified footage circulating on social media and shared by accredited outlets, show columns of smoke and damage to infrastructure in built-up areas.

The missile strikes on Israel are part of an unprecedented regional escalation that has seen Iranian forces engage multiple countries after a joint U.S.–Israeli offensive on Iranian territory. Gulf countries including the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have reported missile and drone activity, leading to civilian casualties and disruption of daily life.

As global leaders call for restraint, the situation remains volatile, with further military and diplomatic developments expected. Independent verification of footage and claims continues, and casualty figures are being continuously updated by authorities and international observers.
