BITLIS, Friday, May 15, 2026 (WNP): Interior Minister of Türkiye Mustafa Çiftçi on Friday interacted with shopkeepers and citizens in the Tatvan district of Bitlis following Friday prayers, emphasizing the vital role of local businesses in strengthening social unity and national solidarity.
During the visit, Minister Çiftçi held conversations with traders and residents, inquiring about their well-being and extending wishes for prosperity and successful business activities.

He described Tatvan as one of Türkiye’s distinguished districts, known for its sincerity, loyalty and strong attachment to the state, adding that direct engagement with citizens remained essential for understanding public concerns and expectations.

The minister said the true strength of the country rested in hardworking shopkeepers who opened their businesses at dawn and earned their livelihoods through honest labour.
He noted that shopkeepers were not only central to economic activity but also served as an important pillar of peace, solidarity and societal cohesion in Tatvan and across Türkiye.

Minister Çiftçi further said the strength and prayers of shopkeepers helped reinforce the bridge of trust between the nation and the state, contributing to the stability and prosperity of cities and communities.
