ISLAMABAD, Thursday, August 20, 2026 (WNP): Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev held a meeting with Farah Naz Akbar, Member of the National Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary, National Heritage & Culture Division, to discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed opportunities to further develop cooperation in the fields of culture, education and sports, with a particular focus on strengthening people-to-people contacts and institutional partnerships.

Ambassador Khorev and Farah Naz Akbar agreed on the importance of facilitating joint academic and cultural exchange programmes to promote greater interaction between educational institutions, cultural organisations and communities in both countries.

The sides also discussed measures to further strengthen the legal framework for bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, aimed at creating a stronger institutional foundation for future joint initiatives.

The meeting underscored the shared interest of Russia and Pakistan in expanding humanitarian and cultural engagement alongside broader bilateral relations.

Both sides expressed their commitment to continued cooperation and to exploring practical avenues for developing mutually beneficial programmes in education, culture and sports.
