Islamabad, Thursday, July 23, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during a telephone conversation with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom, strongly condemning the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea and pledging continued cooperation to safeguard regional peace and maritime security.

During the cordial conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned in the strongest possible terms what he described as the “dastardly attacks” carried out by the Houthi militia against Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. He said such attacks were entirely unacceptable, constituted a clear violation of international law, endangered freedom of navigation and commercial shipping, and posed a serious threat to regional peace, security, and stability.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that he, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the people of Pakistan stand firmly alongside the Saudi leadership and its people during this critical period.

He reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and continued prosperity, underscoring the enduring strategic partnership and fraternal ties between the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also assured Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Pakistan would continue to work closely with Saudi Arabia and the international community to promote peace, security, and stability while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of lawful maritime commerce through the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, and other vital regional waterways.

For his part, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s consistent support and reaffirmed the deep-rooted fraternal relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, acknowledging Islamabad’s longstanding commitment to the Kingdom’s security and stability.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his warm regards and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its historic and strategic partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The telephone conversation reflected the close coordination between Islamabad and Riyadh on regional security developments and underscored both countries’ shared commitment to preserving stability, safeguarding international maritime routes, and advancing peace across the Middle East and the wider region.
