Pakistan, Indonesia vow stronger defence cooperation as Field Marshal Asim Munir meets President Prabowo Subianto

RAWALPINDI, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 (WNP): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), held an important meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Islamabad on Tuesday, reaffirming the deep-rooted defence partnership between Pakistan and Indonesia.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation. Both sides reiterated their commitment to expanding collaboration across diverse military domains.

President Prabowo expressed strong appreciation for the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s positive role in fostering peace and stability in the region.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed that Pakistan greatly values its longstanding strategic ties with Indonesia and remains committed to enhancing cooperation in training, counter-terrorism, military education, and capacity-building initiatives.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both countries to deepen defence engagements and advance their partnership in support of regional peace and collective security.
