ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 (WNP): The Pak–Turk Friendship Week on Tuesday began with a vibrant opening ceremony at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), marking a heartfelt celebration of the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Turkiye — two nations united by faith, history, and enduring friendship.

Organized by the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute and the PNCA, the week-long festival highlights the cultural harmony and shared heritage that have long defined relations between the two brotherly countries.

The event featured a captivating lineup of traditional music, folk dances, and art exhibitions, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of both nations. The stage, adorned with the logos of the partner institutions and portraits of the leaders of Pakistan and Turkiye, symbolized the spirit of solidarity and mutual respect that continues to anchor this historic partnership.

Addressing the gathering, Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Irfan Neziroglu said it was an honor to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkiye alongside the people of Pakistan. He extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his support and participation in the celebrations.

Dr. Neziroglu underscored that the Pakistan–Turkiye relationship is built on trust, brotherhood, and shared values that have withstood the test of time. Recalling history, he paid tribute to the unwavering solidarity shown by the people of the Subcontinent during the First World War — particularly the moral and financial support extended to the Ottoman Empire by figures such as Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Huzaifa Rehman said it was a matter of immense pride to celebrate Turkiye’s Republic Day with Turkish brothers and sisters. He described Turkiye’s remarkable journey of resilience, reform, and progress as a source of inspiration for the Muslim world.

“Pakistan and Turkiye share a bond that goes beyond diplomacy — it is a bond of hearts, faith, and shared aspirations for peace and prosperity,” he remarked. Rehman reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Turkiye, particularly in youth development, education, and cultural exchange.

The ceremony concluded with participants reaffirming their shared resolve to strengthen bilateral cooperation and friendship. They agreed that the Pakistan–Turkiye partnership, rooted in mutual respect, shared heritage, and unwavering solidarity, will continue to flourish as a model of unity and brotherhood for generations to come.
