ISLAMABAD, Sunday, April 20, 2025 (WNP): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday met with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki at the Saudi Embassy, where the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening mutual cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations.

Upon his arrival, Minister Naqvi was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Al-Malki.

During their meeting, both leaders discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, focusing on enhanced collaboration in the economic, social, and security sectors. Minister Naqvi thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the ambassador for their consistent support to Pakistan, particularly in the areas of economic assistance and social development.

He also expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s participation, through a high-level delegation, in the recently held Pak-Gulf Cooperation Council Anti-Narcotics Conference.

Highlighting Pakistan’s firm resolve to tackle transnational crimes, Minister Naqvi underscored Islamabad’s strong interest in working closely with Riyadh to combat drug trafficking and human smuggling. He noted that new passport regulations were being introduced to curb beggary and illegal immigration, and that decisive action was underway against organized begging networks.

Naqvi further acknowledged the recent introduction of visa-free entry for Saudi citizens into Pakistan, describing it as a testament to the enduring brotherly ties between the two countries.

The minister paid special tribute to the Saudi government for its pivotal role in securing the release and safe return of five Pakistani family members who had been wrongfully implicated in a drug-related case.

“It was only through the cooperation and unwavering support of the Saudi government that this innocent family was able to return home safely,” he said.

Ambassador Al-Malki, for his part, reiterated the Kingdom’s strong and historic ties with Pakistan and affirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to expanding cooperation across all fields.
